Literature Text

We laughed and cried,
We stayed strong and true.
Our friendship was tied
To the heart of you.

Those nights on the coast
With you by my side…
I loved to boast,
And in you, I'd confide.

You had your own ways,
You had a big head too.
You had your off days,
But you'd always renew.

We came to a point,
We were both too proud…
We were no longer conjoint
For our hearts spoke too loud.

You lost your light,
I lost my spark
My world of delight
Turned drastically dark

I admire the days
When you held my heart
Now I'm in a daze,
Stitched from being torn apart

But I'm glad that it all occurred,
Because deep down I know
Our memories that have always recurred
Will never let me go.
